9 months already..

Mateen had his first swim @ Subang Golf Club today. He was in the 'float' that I bought from Penang, but he lean to the front too much, so it was an awkward position. So, Mr Bert let him off the float, and he enjoyed it! We even brought his rubber ducky for company, but he enjoyed being with his daddy, and he turns 9 months today.. :)

I waited to watch the DVDs together, so that we can spend time together, but no, you went ahead & watch it first.
I had to wait and do chores alone, while waiting for you to come back from having leisure time.
I have to wait to do my facial for months now, and still have not make appointment.
I have waited for a year, and still not getting anything.

Maybe I just don't deserve it.. sigh..

say my name...say my name..

Someone did ask me, how did we decide on Mateen's name?
Well, I remembered clearly, it was after Arfan (my nephew in JB) was born. I was about 3 months pregnant. It was 1st April 2010, to be exact.

While watching tv, tetiba aje Mr Bert asked me
"Hmmm...nama Matin sedap gak, kan?"
"Matin? Where did you get the name?"
"From Asmaul Husna, it's one of Allah's name..Ya Matin..."
"Hmmm...Matin...yeah, sounds nice... and quite unique, never known anyone with that name.."

I then quickly checked the Asmaul Husna book (which was my nikah's doorgift).

Matin..the 54th name of Allah. Meaning: Yang Perkasa, teguh, the firm one, the super power.
Good meaning, I thought.

"Okay dia, Matin sounds good.. but, I want "double e", like my name. So it'll be Mateen"
"Alright. Tak jadi Yousuff.. nak Ahmed Mateen, if it is a boy.."

At that time, we wanted 'Munckin's gender to be a suprise. Intially, Mr Bert wanted the name Yousuff , after the Nabi, but, I wasn't too keen. When I asked why Ahmed instead of Ahmad, he said "Let it be different..ala2 Pakistani name.." Haha.. aper2 ajelah!

So it was confirmed at that time, if Munckin was a boy, his name would be Ahmed Mateen Bin Ahmad Munir. Lots of letter 'e', just like my name ! :) Somehow, we never got around agreeing to a girl's name, although we did have options. Mcm tahu2 aje Munckin would be a boy.. ;)

Yesterday, when Mr Bert was playing with Mateen, he wanted to call Mateen's full name..
"Ahmed Mateen Bin Mohamad Munir.."
"Huh? Mohamad Munir? You got confused with your name, right?"
He shyly smiled... malulah tuh.. :p
Mohamad is my FIL's name btw..

I remembered reading my fren's blog, her hubby wrote an entry about adjusting to his son's name. He wrote on a form 'son's name' bin 'his father's name, instead of his name". Get it? haha.. I find it hilarious..

Mateen now has many nicknames:- members(My lil bro calls him that).. cik mat..ahmed (Mr Bert calls him that).. buyat..boyot.. tomel.. gerams (I call him that)..cucu Tuk mak... anak mummy.. anak papa.. macam-macam adaaa...

party pooper..

Lately, I have been thinking a lot about Mateen's 1st Birthday.
I was deciding on the theme.. either Dibo the Gift Dragon or Agent OSO..
I was deiciding on the food to serve..the venue.. the guestlist.. the doorgifts...alot went thru my mind..

Then, I asked Mr Bert about his ideas or opinions..
He said that Mateen's "too young" to have a party, he won't even remember anything.
He rather have a small makan session with my family, just a little cake, and that's it.

And with that, I've started to have second thoughts.. to have or not too have a party for this little Munckin. Oh dear...

Financially? We are quite tight..I had to do a major service for my car recently, so I am quite broke for the next few months to pay up my credit card. Mr Bert is still paying for the hospital bills (when delivering Mateen last year), deducted from his salary on a monthly basis. Of course, to take the easy way out, just skip the party & just do lunch with the 3 of us.

But on the other hand, I would like to have a little party.. Mateen & his 'same age' friends playing together ..mummies & daddies exchanging stories about their little ones.. having cute party decos & such..It is memories for him, and myself..

So, I'm torn in between..not sure what to do..

Maybe when he's bigger (like, 2 years old?), he'll understand & appreciate birthday party better, then we can 'invest' in a bigger party instead. (Insyallah by next year, we will be financially stable..). Hmm...

No final decision yet.. I still have less than 3 months to decide...

random thoughts

Okay, I know my birthday is 3 months away.. but my wishlist would be..

1) to own a SmartPhone.. an Iphone would be nice!
2) to have a new set of make up.. the ones from my hantarans dah mostly habis..
3) to buy Tudung Ariani in a whole range of colours.. :P
4) to go for Pedicure & Medicure.. it has been too long.. would love to go with my gfs.. *winks*
5) to buy new shoes... my current ones are at the wear-and-tear stage..
6) to have an oven for the kitchen.. so that I can cook marvellous dishes.. cookbooks would be nice too.. :P

well, who cares if it doesn't comes true.. it is a wishlist afterall... *wishful thinking*..tee hee..

Lately, I don't find interest in those singing-competition-cum-reality shows anymore. Too cliche. Too predictable. Too..boring? hmm..

Now, I am so into.. COOKING shoes! Masterchef.. Top Chef.. Chef @ home...Jr Masterchef.. Masterclass...love to see their yummy dishes..

The thing is... I am FAR beyond their skills..maybe because I don't have the 'ideal kitchen..or the tools.. or the ingredients.. or the passion.. I still get 'uncooked' chicken when I fry them.. or tasteless soups.. or soggy noodles.. Lucky thing I don't have to cook for Mr Bert on a daily basis..maybe he loathe my cooking.. baahh.. I rather watch these 'experts' cook instead.. they make cooking looks SO easy..

I need practice.. I know..(-_-)

******************************************

Mateen has grown into a big 'baby' boy..At about 8 months old, he can officially crawl, sit without support, babbles & screams alot, knows his favourite songs (usually the theme song of the cartoon), holds his milk bottle himself.. and has started to be so manja with me. At times, he will cry his little lungs out if I leave the room, usually to indicate that he's cranky for milk or sleep. He loves sitting in the walker, he'll travel around the house, from the front door, to the kitchen!

He had his first hair cut @ the mamak barber, and he behaved well. He sat on Mr Bert's lap, and kept on looking at the Uncle's pair of scissors. At the moment, he is "gonjeng" (think GI Joe).. but he's locks will grow soon..

The past month, he has been to Seremban 2, Termerloh..and also Singapore! not bad for a little traveller..

There are some things I've planned out for next year...

I plan for Mateen will go to TCH school by March.
I plan to go to US with my family in April.
I plan to be pregnant again by middle of the year.
I plan to fully bf no.2 if possible.

But of course, I can plan all I want, but God decides..
Let's wait & see...He knows best...
