1 month countdown..

Wow.. this is the final month..
31 days countdown..
31 days only to be known as Ms Meen..
31 days until I become Mrs Bert..
31 days until I am married!!! *gasp*
It is so overwhelming..*somebody pinch me already!*

And yes, last weekend was my hen's night!
Well, it is mine & Hemy's bachelorette.. the 2 bride-to-be!
I must say, my dearest Maid of Honour did a great job organizing!

First, the venue:- Cyberview Lodge Spa & Resort.
A great place for a holiday.. I feel like in Bali for some reason.
Great ambiance.. great serenity.. fab! Our rooms were great too!
Comfy beds, ample of space, and also the great view of the fountain.. *heaven*
Maybe can consider having my honeymoon here with Mr Bert! *hint hint*

2nd: Photo session.
Yes, we hired a photographer to take our pre-hen's nite.
Theme : pink & white. (I actually went shopping for this!)
The photographer was okay.. he didn't "direct" us much, which left us "waiting".
But overall..it was fun! Especially our "lompat" pics!
We took the pics during sunset.. so the pics should look nice.

3rd: Hen's nite Games.
Hehe..It was the same games we had last year during Farah's bachelorette, all the kinky games.. hehe.. I wish I can put up some pics online, but of course I won't! *privacy issues*
We gals had a gala time!! woot woot~

4th: Food.
We had dinner at a restaurant called "Mumbo Jumbo". Food was s0-so. We were all engrossed watching Mr & Mrs Smith on TV.
Snacks, we had a range from oranges, to marble cake, to MaMee noodles.. (Cian Hemy sakit perut the next day!)
Our breakfast buffet was at the Resort's Veranda restaurant, which was SUPERB!! I had grilled fish, sauteed mushrooms, fresh juices.. yummm... If I was not on a diet, I would have indulged MORE! :p

5th: Pressie..
I got an interesting headgear from Zaf.. *think kinky-ness, in PINK!* I got a nice lingerie from Aliah.. (It's not all about the baju..is the confidence! Right!!) Thank you gals! In return, I got the gals several things as the doorgifts. They loved it! We even "pose" with the items.. hehe.. that was fun..

6th: Attendees
Rather disappointing. It was supposed to be 10. Then 3 couldn't make it, so there was 7. Then Farah was down with major headache on that day. She even vomited in the loo. So sadly, hubby Badique picked her up during our photo session. So we were down with 6. My dearest twin, Aliah, was on call the next morning, so she left soon after the last game at 1am. So in the morning, there were only 5 gals.

Overall.. I had a wonderful weekend with the gals! Credit goes to the Maid of honour, Ms Shades, for organzing everything. Can't wait for the next hen's night (Wonder who..hmm..)

40 days & 40 nights

Today was the final open day for the year.
Alhamdulillah.. there were 25 enquiries, and 16 registered students.
Together with the returning students, I have 75 students for next year.
Now, I need to have 10 more students so I can reach 85 students by January.
My personal target is 100, but let's see how it goes.

My project at this moment is to FINALIZE my montage pictures.
I have been delaying the pictures selection for quite a long time, so tonight I shall strive to confirm the pics. I must meet my videographer by next week!

Can't believe it's exactly 40 days till the big day!
It's getting closer & closer. dup dap dup dap..
So far I have received quite a bit of RSVPs, most are coming.
I hope we have enough seats for everyone!

Also, I'm counting the days till my little getaway for my hen's night.
7 days to go..Tak sabarnye~ :D

final ptm for the year..

I had my final parents teacher's meeting (PTM)day today.. Alhamdulillah, all I hear was good feedback & satisfaction from parents. There was even one parent who was SO overwhelmed with the child's progress, he CRIED! Woahh.. talk about passionate about your child! Sadly for me, this child will be moving to a different school next year. Some of my teachers also joked as they were passing me the parent's feedback forms "you better give us good increment". Hehe.. I hope they all will get good increments!

Whilst my teachers were busy with the parents, I took time to invite the "selected" parents for my wedding. Obviously I can't invite ALL my parents (threes 100 over of them!), so I managed to select 30 families. (the students/ parents that I am 'extra' close with).I got some mix reactions when I gave them the invitation cards.

"Ooh, you're not married yet?"
"Wow..who's the lucky guy?"
"Wahh.. so 'ong' your date!"
"Of course we'll come! Congrats!"

So yeah, they were thrilled with the invite!:)

I was just reading thru one of my parent's blog, and I was quite please with her write up:-

(in regards to their daughter)

" Her Head of School's remarks were also very encouraging:

She is an all rounder student with lots of potential in her academics. With this attitude and personality, she will be able to excel in her primary years and beyond. Keep up the fantastic work.

Sangat uplifting dan sangat bangga menjadi mommy.. :) Good job, girl. I hope you'd keep this up all the way through your studies.

(In regards to their son)

The Head of School, was gracious enough to let us borrow the Gin Reading System for Levels 2 through 4. (banyak woo.. every level ada 6 books) We'll see how he does in that.

So, all in all it was two great meets. It's good to see that the pre-school system allows us time for quality feedback session. I mean, it has to be two-ways, of course. Otherwise how would you know whether your children are on the right track or not.

Alhamdullilah, that is one satisfied parent.
I've always adore this parent. They (the husband & wife) are super cool, super nice, super selamba. I had a great chat with them in the morning.
Hope I'll be a cool-yet-respective parent like them one day! ;)

************************************

Off topic about my wedding card, I realized that the men always think the baby girl photo is Mr Bert, and the baby boy photo is me. Why ar??
Maybe it's an indication how my son/daughter will look like.. hmmm..........
Insyallah.. ;)

one point five

A year ago, exactly on this date, I was being "pre-booked" by Mr Bert's parents.
And now,it's just 1.5 months to go before the big day!!
Where has all the time gone?? O_o^

Yesterday session was good. We managed to put stamps for 70% of the reply cards, and only 200 doorgifts were ready. Another 700 to go! *gasp*
Mr Bert was very cheerful last night. I think he was pleased with the card. (cause ader muka chomel dia kot! hehe)

Anyways, I've been giving out the cards to guests as of yesterday.
The major bulk will be ppl for my school workers (HQ ppl, my teachers, my vendors).
Hmm, despite asking for addresses, no one has actually given me their home address. Perhaps the fb application does help to "save" on the cards. Guess I won't have to worry if I ran out of cards? Lets hope for that..

I watched another movie solo today.. This is it!
I didn't plan to watch initially.. but it was raining heavily in the evening, and it was jammed packed everywhere. So, why waste time on the road when you can enjoy an entertaining movie?
The movie footage was good.. I bet it would have been a fantastic concert if MJ was still alive. My favourite scene was when they showed the group of dancers performed several synchronized dance routine together! fyuuuhhh!! My secret ambition was to be dancer, so watching these ppl really inspired me.. hehe..

Tmrw am having ppl from Disney promoting "Princess & the Frog"! Hope I'll get some freebies! :)

Wedding updates..

Updates from the bride-to-be:-

1) Borang2 kahwin
Yesterday, I was over the moon when my dad msg me
" Okay, all documents have been submitted. You are ready to be nikah-ed"
Alhamdullillah..our forms are in order.

2) Wedding cards
They are ready!! Well, almost ready.. by Monday I can pick up the cards. I just "stole" one card from my card person, cause I was too excited! hehe.. But, I have collected the envelopes & reply cards. Very satisfied with everything.. :)

3) Hantaran deco
The aunty has finished, now waiting to buy more ribbons to enhance the deco. Earlier just now, my mom & I "bermain2 display" the dulang, alas, deco & the hantarans. Wahh.. although the deco is incomplete, but everything looks so nice! Or maybe I am biased! hehe..

4) Home deco
My mom has been working hard for this. Everyday there's an update, everyday there's something new she bought. Well, I trust her taste, so I am not worried at all.

This sunday will be a busy day at home with the ladies as we will start our pre-wedding prep, such as cutting ribbons, cutting door gift cards, tying ribbons, putting stamps, etc. Hopefully by Monday, I can start distributing the cards to ppl.

Believe or not, I am still busy with school work. My report card day is next week, so there's lots of checking & signing of cards to do. Plus tmrw my whole day is gone as I have to be on duty in MPH followed by marketing training afterwards. My mom has started making noise cause I come back home feeling & looking tired, and still not 100% on the wedding. Sigh..

There's still lots to do:-
1) Montage pics- I really need to sit down to finalize pics
2) Hantarans- need to go surveying & shopping for the remaining hantarans with Mr Bert..SOON!
3) need to start packing for my new home! *gasp!*
4) need to start back my gym routine! perghh...

*yawnnn.......*
Gosh, I am super tired. Tmrw gotta be in OU by 9am. Sigh..
Have a good weekend folks!

8th month delight!

Today I managed to accomplish several errands:-
1) Follow-up medical checkup. Tick. Results: most of my readings are lower than before. Good progress. Doctor encouraged to keep up the fantastic job! *yeay*

2) Dentist check up. Tick. Was supposed to do last August, of course time didn't permit. Now my teeth feels so clean! Next appointment, May 2010.

3) Mr Bert's documents to collect. Tick. Since I was on leave today, he asked a favour to pick up the docs from jabatan agama islam in Keramat. He owes me big time! :p

4) Meeting up with the cake lady. Tick. My mom joined in as well. The lady brought several magazines, which have SO many different cake designs! But my mom & I managed to choose the final 2 cakes. Now waiting for quotations.

5) And finally, my long awaited first bridal spa treatment! Tick! I was scrubbed, steamed, yogurt-fide, had my 'mandi bunga', massaged, and also did my facial.
I was so relaxed... * I was in heaven*
Here are some pics..

This is my 'personal room' .. massage bed & bath tub!

There's even pebbles on the floor..

The deco near the bath tub..

This was during my "mandi bunga" session. Can you see my pretty feet with the flowers? :p

I had a fantastic 4 hours session.. I am so satisfied! I also managed to accomplish a personal mission *huge grin* I am so proud of myself! Can't wait for my next session in 2 weeks time. Another happy note, today marks our 8th month anniversary.. I couldn't be happier.. :)

I'm done!!

Yeay!! After months of planning.. it has come to an end..
My concert is over! woohoo~
Alhamdulillah..

Of course, like any events, there were hiccups here & there.
1) Mics were not loud enough.. sound system not the best
2) I need another pair of walkie talkie on the other side of stage. I ended up running across the backstage several times.
3) I needed more ushers, and "guards". The parents were all in front of the stage blocking the VIPs.
4) children were noisy backstage, kinna distracted the VIP speech.
5) Dismissal -need to figure a proper (and organized!) way to dismiss the children.

But alhamdulillah, the plus points:-
1) parents enjoyed Bangsar's Choral Speaking..woot woot!
2) the performances finished earlier than expected. On time, yes!
3) parents enjoyed the performances- especially Recorder, Violin, Sasa & Swinging Bones. The children were SO good!
4) I have a fantastic MC who is so cooperative & jovial too
5) Props & decor were eye catching..

Oh well, I am happy to hear the positive feedback from my parents.
I am so proud of my kids.. Thank you to my lovely teachers for all their hard work!

Now, with the concert over, I can concentrate on my wedding.. 200% Insyallah..
Can't wait for my first bridal spa on Monday...
A well deserved treat for me! :)

a quickie

Had a movie nite with my bestie Shades...
we watched the Time Traveller's Wife movie! *skips for joy!*
Of course, it is different from the book.. a lot of characters were not in the movie.
Overall, it was good.. bitter & sweet.. the movie makes it more realistic and less complicated than the book.
and of course, having very good actor & actress does help the movie to give an impact.
Eric Bana is SOO good looking! It's that unshaven look again.. *sigh dreamily*
I don't mind watching the movie again.. with my Mr Bert.. *wishful thinking*

Aside from my movie getaway, I have been (whats new) busy with my concert.
This morning, I woke up with a splitting headache. It was so bad, that during lunchtime I vomitted in the loo! ooh booyy..
The stress has finally taken it's toll. sigh..
Just a few more days, and everything will be over...

Despite the hectic-ness, there's always a blessing in disguise.
The costume lady sent me a msg saying "Please be informed that we will give you the 3 tux for your flower boys for you wedding present"
Syukur alhamdullillah... rezeki betul for my 3 boys!

I spoke to my dear Imani today, telling her how much I will miss her when she leave the school next year.
" I will miss you too Teacher Helena" (hugs me tight)
"Oh, you know Imani, end of this year, I will be married. I hope you can come, so that I can see you again"
"Okay.. but you have to give me a map.."
"Of course I will. My wedding card is at the printing process now. I will give you the soonest."
"Teacher, who will be your flower girl?"
"my little cousins are.."
"Erm, can I be your flower girl? I've never be a flower girl.."

Awww........I feel so touched.
She is after all, one of my closest student in school.
Maybe since I saved on the tux, I can buy her a dress.. Hmm....
Imani.. I heart you! :)
