Canberra Trip: Day 6

Day 6- 29th September 2005

Since we're in Sydney already, we wanted to explore Canberra, the nearest city from Sydney. Plus, there was a Floriade Festival being held, so it was a good reason to go to Canberra. Therefore, since Emma can't drive and Aunty Na was too scared to drive in a foreign country, I had to self-convince myself to drive all the way to Canberra and back to Sydney. Collin, Siew Heng bf, was a good help for giving me directions & tips about Canberra. We left the house at 8.30am, and we managed to reach there around 12pm.. (with the pitt stops + getting lost moments..). Once we reached the Floriade Festival, it started to pour heavily..but the sun came up again after awhile. We were mesmerized by the beautiful flowers around, from one colour to another, from tulips to roses, it was like a kingdom of flowers.. Flower Haven! We took pictures at almost every corner garden, it was really pretty.. We even made a mini Hindustani movie scene at the festival! hehe.. There were also little "people" mini-statues that was painted by various people, from kids to adults, with fancy decorations & all. Later that afternoon, we took pics at the important monuments of Canberra, namely the National Library, Parliament & so on. Driving back to Sydney felt much faster, as I managed to reach home at 8pm (We left Canberra at 5). Can't believed I managed to drive all the way.. Sydney-Canberra.. woohoo! Now I can say.."Been there, done that..." =)

Sydney Trip: Day 4 + 5

Day 4- 27 September 2005

Aahh, finally. Emma (almost) finished her assignment, so we can bring her out! Yeay! So first destination: Circular Quay! Again, with the same ol' Harbour Bridge + Opera House. Then we took the train + bus to University of Sydney, where Emma meets up with her friend, Amardeep + I met up with my old school friend, Siew Heng. She brought us around her ex-uni (she's working now), and we hang around at her house the whole afternoon. For dinner, we had Thai food at "Thai Pohtong" + later had gelato ice cream for desserts.. Amardeep was nice enough to drive us back home..

Day 5- 28 September 2005

Destination today: Manly! We took a 45 minutes ferry ride to Manly after walking around at "the Rocks". Again, we took pics overlooking the Bridge + Opera house. After brunch, Max bought us new sunglasses as a souvenier from him in Sydney. Ain't he sweet! We then walked around Manly Beach, where the cool wind was really blowing strongly. (it was supposed to be sunny today...oh well). We then took a ferry back to the city, had lunch + round 2 of Max Brenner.. yummm.. This time, I was really REALLY sugar high, Max + I couldnt stop laughing! hehe.. We went shopping for a bit, then later visited Max's home at Epping. Not long after that, we had to catch 2 trains to Pramatta to meet up with the girls at this nice Tuscany Italian Cuisine restaurant. Another long day for us, filled up with delicious food too...
