Slumdog

Movies that I've watched alone at the cinemas:-
Shanghai Noon.
Sepi.
and just today, Slumdog Millionaire.
That movie deserved the oscars.
Splendid movie, definately a mind opener.

The decision to watch the movie alone was really spontaneous.
I wanted to 'free my mind' away, at that moment.
Glad I watched it.

Sigh.. another dugaan strikes again.
I am so helpless. I can't determine anything.
And again, I am stuck in between.
Since I have no say.. just proceed then.
Do what you're pleased to do.
I am not going to do anything about it.
Dare I say it? Whateverlah! (-_-)
Sigh.. It does get harder..

dua minggu lagi

Just another 2 weeks to go.. *gasp!*
well, less actually.. 13 days & counting.
Where has the 14 weeks past? gosh!
So far, I've make several appointments for the 'big' day..
Facials, dentist, medie & pedie.. not forgetting shoe shopping with shades!
My baju is ready.. but it is still at the tailor's.
Yesterday, my parents & I did the script for the event.
It has sunk in..a little.. *smiles*

Ex & the city

Within the past 2 days, I have been hearing stories about my friends & their ex.

Emz* & her ex were together for..I think 5 years.
But, they still hang out with each other almost every weekend.
And everywhere they go, they know each other's wants/don't wants.
"Yeap, she'll have that" or "No, he can't have that", etc.
Even ppl said "You both look so good together..are you sure that you're not together?"

Aqm* & her ex broke up about 2 years ago..and they were together like.. I dunno, 6 years?
And I haven't seen her for ages. She claimed that she was busy.
She confessed that it wasn't that she was busy, but she doesn't feel like hanging out.
But the truth was, "I don't think I am fully recovered yet.."

Hhy* & her ex just broke up a week b4 valentine's day.
There were together for 3 years, but broke it off mutually.
Everytime she's at home..she'll think of him.
So, she calls up friends or hang out to keep her time occupy. It is still a fresh wound anyway.

Rams* & her ex broke up on new year's.
The ex had some 'unfinished business' with his previous ex (talk about weirdo!)
Anyways, the first few weeks, she calls me up to hang out with her, since she has "no plans for the day". But she has slowly recovered from the fella.

But, when I meet/ chat/ spoke to them, they were all excited about me..
"So, tell me the juicy news about Mr Bert!"
"Oh my gosh, you're getting married soon.."
"You seem more cheerful than usual.."
"Aww...I am so happy for you!!"

Well.. I feel like I am in an awkward situation.
As much as I wanna share their sorrow & pain about their experiences, but they too want to embrace my happiness.
So, I be humble. I am happy, and thankful. Syukur.
I really hope they too will find their happy ending, sooner or later.
May they find strength and hope to move on to a happier chapter of their lives.

Had dinner with Mr Bert at our usual dating place, Subway.
Before that, we went to Habib to get my ring engraved.

"Well, they can only fit 6 letters in this ring. Since you are giving me the ring, what do you wanna 'say' to me?"
" Hmmm..'You are my everything?'"
"Dia..6 letters la, not words!"
"Ohh.. hmm..I luv u?"
"How about I suggest putting his name instead?"

"That's perfect dia!"

The lady mentioned that she'll try to put "Meen & Moon" on the ring. So exciting! It will be ready right before the engagement. Can't wait.. (^_^)

After our dinner, I headed straight to Rasta for the last outing with Zaf.

She's leaving for Melb this Thurs.
We had our girl talk..right uptil midnight.
We laugh..we cried..we talked about hopes & dreams.
Zaf..Hope you get to come back for my Bachelorette party!

b4 getting married..

A few things that I still get to enjoy before I get married:-

1) I get to sleep in whenever I can
2) I don't have to cook on a daily basis.
3) my laundry is my own.
4) I get to sing aloud in the car when driving.
5) I don't have to rush home from work to cook dinner.
6) I don't have to worry own house expenses.
7) my weekends are my own.
8) I can blog! haha..

I know, I shouldn't highlight these factors, but it is the truth.
While I can, I have the right to enjoy these privilleges.
Of course, when I am a wife, everything will change.
But till then.. I'll enjoy while I can. *winks*
However, I am aware that I should prepare myself..emotionally & mentally.
Things to do: read more 'marriage/relationship' books & practice cooking! (something I haven't done in a LONG time)

Anyways, updates on the engagament preparations:-

Fitting baju: Good news, it was a bit loose when I tried it on! (woohoo~). Beading work needs to done. Next fitting in 2 weeks.
Curtain: Wanted a sheer-ed one, but settled for a flowing one. Will be ready in 2 weeks.
Hantaran deco: Finally, Aunty Yan is available to do the deco. Need to buy more flowers,ribbons & boxes and she can start doing.
Hantaran: might need to buy sejadah to replace one of the hantaran, since we might combine the songket & the kain baju melayu. Will see. Need to go to bateel to choose the kurma/biscuits.
Room:Tried the bed sheet & carpet..looks good.Need more deco.
Flowers: Will go with mama to check out the colour of the flowers. Will also decide on the sirih design too.
Others: Still deciding.. to veil or not to veil? To buy new shoes or not?

No, I am not freaking out ..just yet.

fifteen..

Yesterday was the 51st Grammy's.
I so loved the performance of Miley & Taylor. Fifteen.

I was 15 ten years ago.
What did I know that time?
I had fantastic classmates, I was super-stressed with PMR (but end up with flying colours), I was super-busy with PBSM,I babysitted my dear cousin Sarah a lot, it was the Commewealth games, and yes, not forgetting my broken heart & anti-guy stage.
I remembered that time.. I promised myself that I will stay single for 10 years..
Haha..janji tinggal janji.. =p
To be honest, I secretly wished that I would be married by 25.
I was hoping, after 10 years of singlehood, I would fall in love with a man who would sweep me of my feet in no time.
Haha.. of course my story didn't end up that way.
Although I was 'single' for many many years, but I met plenty of guys who broke my heart.
The ones who didn't 'fight' for me, the ones who left without any news, the ones that didn't care less.
Been there, done that.. I think I was the Queen of Broken-Hearted songs..

But Alhamdulillah. After years of finding my 'headless guy' (I've dreamt of him before, but couldn't see his face), he has finally found me. (^_^)

Okay no, I didn't plan for a sappy entry for today. And I was just writting about me being fifteen. Geez..

Anyways, Mr Bert was somewhat in a bad mood td.
I was like, bersungguh2 telling him things, and he said "Ok" to everything. Expression-less betul!
It felt like I was talking to a wall. (-_-)
Then he started complaining about his work..too much to do, too little time.
Alright, we do have our bad days kan?
He was tired, grumpy & hungry..so couldn't blame the guy, can I?
I guess he knew I wasn't too happy about the conversation, he started the conversation part deux, until he decided to buy his dinner.
Okaylah..he tried. Hopefully tmrw he'll be in a better mood.

Oh, tmrw's got a date with my tailor.
I have to go for fitting..yeay!

thaipusam weekend

My usual routine on a public holiday is to have my extra-morning sleep before I wake up at 8 or 9am.
But today, my dearest nephew is in bed with me and he CONQUERED my bed! I am literally 1 cm from falling off from my own bed! He has SO much space at his end, but choose to take over mine! He even put his leg over mine, thinking that I am his bolster! I sayy..
But I've got to admit, when he sleeps, he still looks as adorable as when he was a baby.. Awwww....
So, instead of me trying to "survive" or "fight for space", I've decided to get up & update my blog! :)

Last saturday, I had luncheon with my dearest friend, Hema.
It was like the olds days..when it was just us, two girls, talking about life, families, and boys, wondering where have all the good men gone, and how much longer we'll be single.
Oh, except that.. I've found Mr Bert, and she is still hot in the market.
Gosh, actually.. I was so familiar in that zone. I should receive like a medal for being single for what.. almost 10 years! Hey, it wasn't easy finding Mr Bert too.. the obstacles & the frustrations that I had to go through..
Woman, don't worry! Your mysterious prince charming will eventually knock on your door and say "Where have you been hiding all these years, my love?" tee hee hee..

Anyways, after our VERY long lunch at Delicious (we were there till 5 pm!), we decided to go window shopping.
I suddenly have this crave of BELTS! I bought a brown belt last month, and this time round, I saw a white belt..and it's lovely!

AND..the best part is..my dearest Hema bought it for me!
So sweet of her.. Thanx woman!

We went to several shops, and boy I miss shopping!
From this year onwards, any extra money I have to keep aside for my wedding.
That would mean, no more extra clothes/jewerly/shoes.
I can only buy the NEEDS,not the WANTS. sigh..
I saw this black & white dress..which looked stunning!
But..the dress is a WANT, not a NEED, so sadly, I put it back on the shelf, and left the store.
I saw this fabulous purple heels that might go well for my engagement baju. Again..a WANT.. perghh..
Maybe when my baju is ready, I may consider to buy the shoes..
and the dress..
Wonder if Mr Bert is willing to pay for it? (haha..dream on meen!)

Oh yes, today marks exactly ONE more month till the engagement.
Yeah, I know. Ppl say you shouldn't do countdowns.. even Mr Bert doesn't like it. But hey, it's my blog.
Plus, is my one & only time to do so.
One day Insyallah, if I get a baby, I'll put those "Baby is due is *** days" tickers.Even when the baby is born, I'll put those "Baby is **** days old".
It is all for the name of "fun". kan? :p

Anyways, 30 days countdown now.
Gosh, time flies. There are things that are done, and some still pending.
Most of the pending things, will be doing things like facial, medicure, pedicure.. and the latest "things-to-do" :THREADING!
Am so scared lah.. the pain..the agony!
But I know I have to do it. Emer kept on saying that I can look like a female version of Papa.. sigh..
Why do women have to go thru lots of pain to look pretty? (-_-)

In a few hours time, Mr Bert is picking me up for our Farewell Lunch & Karaoke for Zaf.
We're gonna sing our lungs out..woohoo!

what a suprise!

Yesterday, my day started out rather bad.
To distract myself, I started to clean my room (as what I've planned to do, revamp-ed!).
I cleared a lot of things, re-arranged photo frames, candles, organized my make-up & jewerly boxes.
I still need to buy purplish things for my room, plus lavender scented candles.
I was so busy in my room, I only had lunch at about 3pm.
The day got better.
Mr Bert decided to make a suprise visit to my home!
Sometimes wishes do come true.. don't they?
He accompanied me to TESCO, stayed on for dinner with my family, and we watched the finale of Australian Open, My Starz LG & American Next Top Model.
He felt right at home.. only that the fact he has to drive back to his home at 11.
But it was okay..I was happy that he came! (^_^)
I was very excited, until I forgot to take away the backdrop (which was meant to be a suprise for him during the engagement day!) Oppsy!
Oh well, at least the day ended well.. thanx to Mr Bert!

preparations update

My self-made 'card'..not bad right?

Am planning to put the pic on fb's event application for the guests.

The 'card' is not finalized yet. Am waiting for the green light from my mom & Mr Bert, then the invites will be out.

Am pretty relief that the past week, a LOT has been accomplished!

Chocolate-surveying/ Chocolate experimenting (yes, believe it)/ Anak tudung/ Kerusi Pelamin/ Alas/ Flower Sample/ Decorating Backdrop/ Cupcakes/ Deposit for Make up

We basically were here, there & everywhere.

My favourite moments during the week:

1) Managed to get Mr Bert's Songket (it was love at first sight.. I loike!!)

2) Met both the tailor. The both LOVED the kains. Can't wait to see the sketch designs

3) Doing up the backdrop with Shades & my mom. It looks lovely. Another 20% to go.

What's left to do?

1) My hantaran layout-need to finalize with Aunty Yan about the design

2) My baju- in 2 weeks time, fitting!

3) Hantaran- only left with Bateel, Cake & Fruits. To purchase nearing the date.

4) Re-deco my room-need to put more purple things out on display. Tmrw I shall re-vamp my room! (Insyallah)

Okay..for engagement is pretty much in order. Now I've started to survey around things for nikah. ie: kursus kahwin, spa, hantaran things, etc.

Thank God there still a long way to go..

I haven't seen my FTB Mr Bert for 2 weeks now. (-_-)

He has been pretty cheeky over the phone.

Miss my dearest dia..

Can't wait to cook 'singgang' for him! (^_^)
