Today's my expiry date as a Single Lady.

From today onwards, I am known as Mrs Bert! (^_^)

I am at the midst of having mix emotions:- nervous, anxious, excited.
The feeling comes & goes, usually I get 'struck' in the mornings.
My life will change this Thursday.. that's 3 more sleeps~

So far, the pelamin is 75% ready..
Khemah is 55% up.
Door gifts 60% ready.
Flower deco 50% ready..

It will be super busy these next few days.. don't think I'll be updating the blog..
Before you know it, my blog will have a new name! :)

So far, a lot of things has been accomplished :-

1) Hantaran- all done, except for the sirih & one more manisan
2) Bajus- picking up today!
3) Spa- my last session this weekend
4) Video- this Saturday..

The checklist is much longer, but so far, everything is under control.. alhamdulillah..

Just wanna updated on my 2nd reception, a wedding dinner organized by my Papa. We had a meeting with Uncle Razak, the wedding planning, about the whole reception. So here's a sneak peek of the venue:-

Overall, the food tasting was good. The chef, however, needs to improve on several things. Thank God Uncle Razak was there to critic the food. Regardless, the salad & salmon was superb!


Today is my last mengaji day with Aunty Ha. Better give my all.

3 weddings and no funeral..

I got an email from my Aunty today:
"It's getting closer and closer!!!! Next week!!! We are talking weeks now. Soon will be days."
It's so true.. it's exactly 10 days from today..after today, it is single digits only! woot woot~


Anyways, here's an update of the 3 weddings we attended last Saturday.
Mr Bert came late to fetch me due to the rain, so I had extra time to practice my walk with my superheels.

First wedding: Aza & Azy's Wedding @ Shah Alam
A brief history. Aza is my long lost school friend who I have not met in 14 years! We were pretty close in primary school, and I remembered her being one of the prettiest & popular girls in school! I also remembered her home, "Jalan Siti Payung". Hence, going back to her house brings back sweet memories.. I met some school friends, and her siblings, boy they still look the same!

2nd Wedding: Nikki & Rozan's wedding @ TTDI.
Nikki is one of my schoolmate in DU. We were classmates in form 4 before she left for MRSM.By the time we reached here, it was already 4pm and we were the last few to be around. Managed to take a pic with the bride though..

Hemy is also one of my schoolmates from DU. She was one of the most popular girls in school, but she is so cool! We kept in touch over the years. I remembered she told me she plans to get married on 12.12.12. Then after raya this year, she announced her wedding, 12 days before mine! haha.. langkah bendul la Hemy! We have our Hen's night together recently. Her wedding was so beautiful...

Celebrated the maid of honour's bday a day before her actual bday.
Managed to do a surprise do with the cake (I should get a medal for this :P).

Remember my new found friend, Fafau?

Well, on my first day of cuti, I was happily surfing fb & watching 8tv at the same time.

On fb, I saw Fafau online, and I bugged her

"Eh eh... ader org layan fb whie working.."
And she replied " Hey Oshin....Shhhhhhhh"

We chatted for a bit, and this is her, chatting "live" with me.

Halfway thru, she told me to look at the screen. She typed...

My mom was with me & we were so excited. I chatted with her, saying my mom is here with me. She quickly typed something and again, asked me to look at the screen. And she said...

This time, I managed to get a picture of her pointing to the screen. The earlier msged, I didn't get to take her pic as I had to searched my room for my camera.. hehe..

What a great way to start the morning. (^_^)

Food tasting at the hall.

The food was overall good. Uncle Rauf was the best person to bring for food critic. He commented on the prawns & daging, so the caterer needs to improve on it.

And the guests will be served pink laici drinks on that day.. to match my theme colour of course!

After the food tasting, I managed to 'practice' my grand walk. I wore my superheels, and played the walk in song via my handphone. It takes approximately 2 minutes 30 seconds for me to walk from the main hall door to the pelamin. That's pretty long, I must say!

It was an interesting experience wearing the corset during my fitting. *deep breaths*

But the baju is cantik.. wow, my very own baju kahwin!! Mcm tak percaya.

Ms P is FINALLY here..

Hola peeps..
Meet my friend, Ms P.
She has been MIA since end of September.
And because of her, I had pimples all over my face, I have mood swings, I feel cranky, I feel bloated.. somebody even said I looked SO kembang!
I was so depressed without her..cried like no one's business. I got emotional over minor things. I feel fat & ugly. Sighh...

And finally, after about 2 months 1/2 of disappearing act.. she appeared!! Alhamdulillah...
In case you are wondering, I am talking bout my period! =p
Ms P decides to come out on my last day of work before my 2 weeks wedding leave.. how brilliant.
Anyways..I am relief cause I was SO worried about the whole cycle. I was thinking, must I see a gynae, or what happens if I got my period during my Khatam session, or on my nikah day, wearing all white with a red dot at the back ain't a pretty picture.
Perfect timing I must say, Ms P! Well done..
I hope she won't do any more surprises in the future!

Oh, it is a GREAT feeling to be on leave for 2 weeks..
No more planning things for school, or worried about student targets (I've reached 91 students so far! yezza~), teacher's issues, planning, stationeries.. NAHH! I'm done~ Poor Gina, my administrator, has to do solo work now. But I know she'll managed well. I didn't leave things hanging for her.. (maybe just one or two things.. hehe).
Maybe that's why I was so stressed about the past few weeks.. that's why Ms P took her time to come out..

Okay, enough bout that Ms P.. I can now concentrate 200% on the wedding!
I have full schedule for the next upcoming weeks.
Tmrw I will be getting my engraved rings & will go to the hall again for food tasting.
Need to practice the stilettoes in the hall... must remember to bring the shoes.

It's Britney's latest single.. 3.
I was listening to it this morning to work.. and I figured, how appropriate, my wedding is 3 weeks away.. well actually, it's 20 days from today.
Maybe I should stop counting down the days.. but I can't help it! =p

Next week, I just need to go to work for another 3 more days, and then I am on leave officially!
But there's still SO much paperwork that I have yet to complete!
Permits, timetables, student list, teacher's check lists, orientation day..
I plan to do some work tonight (if I'm up for it), and perhaps I will try to be in school by 7.30am next week, so I can proceed my work with no interruptions..

As for wed prep, I have been head-counting the guests who have RSVP-ed.My friends so far is 157 confirmed.My mom has allocated 180 for my friends..mana cukup?I hope others will reply soon..

My dear cousin Sarah & I have been going to mengaji classes for the past 2 weeks. She reads well for an 11-year-old.
(btw, today's her bday.. Happy Bday Sarah!)
After much practice, I have improved too. Initially, I pronounced the wrong tajweed & such. (need to refresh on this.. to dengung or not to dengung..)

To be honest, I feel a lot 'calmer' everytime after the class.I think that it helps me spiritually in regards to the wedding preps. For any future brides, I would recommend you to have a khatam quran for your wedding. Not only you'll feel calmer, but insyallah the ceremonies akan diberkati.. Ameen.. :)

Alrighty then..better start with my school work.. adios amigos~

9th no more..

Last Saturday, one of the parent form my school wanted to interview me for her blog.She writes various things:- happenings in Federal Territory, her sons, random ppl.I was overwhelmed & thrilled that I was given the '5 mins of fame'.

I remembered her son joining my school in late 2008. That time she was heavily pregnant, and she was SO concern about the son, the school, etc. Now, she is extremely happy with the school and with the son's progress, so as a 'return favour', she wants to 'promote' the school by writing about me! haha..

Yesterday, we went to search the perfect shoe for Mr Bert.

He is quite a fussy shoe person! But finally, we found the one that suited best.

Mr Bert said that this shoes can only be worn on special occasions.
"Well, my shoes too. I can't be wearing that 5 1/2 inch every other occasion! "
"Alah, kasut you tuh, I kena pimpin you.. "
Chett... sabar ajelah...(-_-)^

So, that's it! All the search for our hantarans is over! *yeay*

After our shoe hunting, we had a farewell dinner with my family & my cousins, Kamil & Nadirah at the 'Gardens', One Utama.They are migrating to Adelaide (my kampung!=p) next week, so they won't be around for my wedding *sobs*Mr Bert told them that we will visit them there one day. I was quite surprise with that statement, but if ader rezeki, why not? I was there for 4 years after all..

Till that day comes, "All the best & take care Kamil & Nadirah.. You (both) will be missed!"

Today marks our 9th month engagement anniversary.
It is our final month as fiancees until we embrace new 'titles'.
So after today.. we won't need to celebrate the 9th of every month anymore.
Just 3 weeks to go dia, can't wait! (^_^)

restless bride2b..

It's almost 2am, and I am still up.
I am dead tired.. but somehow my mind decides to do the opposite.. to 'stay awake!'
Today was quite a bad day.. I was caught in a 1.5 hour of traffic jam in the morning (reason: apparently there was an accident near the istana in KL, but the jam dragged to Damansara... perghh) and an hour's jam during rush hour due to the HEAVY rain. I was quite emo.. so I sang my heart out in the car. Red FM played some great tunes.. ( Tearing up my heart, Fifteen, Superwoman, Independent woman, etc). So yeah, I bet ppl who saw me in the car would think I'm a lunatic! Reached home at 9pm.. Missed the Amazing Race finale, so had to watch the 11pm repeat.

Anyways, wedding updates:-
1) Managed to get some new things for my current room! - feathered pillows, bedsheets, comforter, etc. All to "menyambut" kedatangan Mr Bert nanti (I got the same items in my gift registry, but that's for our house in Ampang)

2) With the money that my aunties gave me.. I've decided to invest on some pretty undergarments.. Believe it or not, I almost spent almost close to 1k for just 3 pairs (matching ones kay..)! I got a good brand obviously, which should last me the new few years! hehe..

3) The toiletries/ perfume/ make up set for Mr Bert/Myself has been cling wrapped! The guy at the Estee counter arranged the items & wrapped everything up (just like the ones in display). I loike!!

4) My mom has started on the room decor. Here's a sneak peek:

5) Met up with the other tailor for my reception baju. He told me that I have to wear a corset on the big day, which will take off 4 inches off my waist!! *gulps*

Also, he advised me to start wearing high heels daily, since my lovely shoes is 5 1/2 inch tall.

Let's pray & hope that I won't fall wearing these heels (especially at the steps!) *gulps*

preps preps preps..

Yesterday my schedule was packed with wedding preparations..

First stop:- Wedding venue..

My mom & I met with our decorator & the hall person, discussed about the arrangement of tables, main tables, ribbons for the chairs, etc. The next visit will be during the food tasting, in 2 weeks time. Must remember to bring my lovely shoes to 'practice' the walk. I have 8 steps to climb before I sit on the pelamin!!

Second stop: 1st fitting for baju nikah..
After the hall, we headed to Bukit Bintang to see my tailor. I was pretty nervous cause takut measurement lari. Thank god it didn't! She still need to alter more! *fyuhh*. Initially when I wore the baju, I felt normal. But, when I put on the veil, now that was when the feeling started to sink in.. I was looking at myself in the mirror, and said "Oh my gosh.. I look like a bride.. I am getting married!" The baju looks very nice, even without the pearls & beads. Can't wait for the baju to be ready! After the tailor, my mom & I bought the door gifts for the VIPs. *Kau-teem*. Also managed to meet up with my videographer in between. Will meet up with him again next week.

3rd stop: Ring hunting..
This time is with mr fiancee at KLCC. We both decided to get the rings early so we don't have to do last minute ring shopping later this month. (already we both are super busy.. so it is now or never!)Mr Bert has actually surveyed the rings/ bracelets the week before, so he knows the patterns & price range.

If referred to my engagement early this year, both families have agreed that I will be getting a bracelet for my wedding. But, as we surveyed the entire shop, we realized that the rings were "nicer" & more "affordable" than the bracelets. Plus, the ring that I chose was rather unique, with the "kerawang" element that I like. And a surprise, Mr Bert made an impromptu decision to give me a necklace & pendant for my nikah. 2 items for me! yeay!

As for his ring, we tried several designs, but we only liked one particular design. Simple, and yet.. very Mr Bert.. hehe.. lucky thing they have his size! Mr Bert was such in a good mood during the ring shopping.. best gak.. He did promised to get me the "bigger" ones in the future anniversary insyallah.. Better start eyeing.. :P Our rings are being sent for engraving.. I wish I can wear my ring now! :P

4th stop: Buying his 'toiletries' hantrans..
We were actually at the ring shop for 2 hours, (surveying, trying, and paying.. took us that long!)so buy the time we left the shop, we only have about 45 mins to shop for his toiletries. We quickly headed to Kiehl's & chose one of the men's set. Now, pending items are his shoes & the netbook.

Wow.. We accomplished quite a bit for the day, Alhamdulillah... I really enjoyed myself yesterday.

of wedding gifts...

Yesterday when I was in MidValley, I just saje menyibuk to see who has chosen the gifts from my wedding gift registry.
Sadly.. my list was still empty. NO ONE has bought anything! :(
I was quite upset.. Mr Bert ensured me that ppl will pick some things soon. Well, I hope so too..

But today, I was cheered up when I got my second wedding present from my cousins...

Aunty Nim from Perth couldn't make it for the wedding. So she sent over some $$$ too. Alhamdulillah once again..

After my HOS meeting just now, I was told to wait outside the meeting room, cause Mikel & the other HOS wanted to discuss "something". I have a feeling is about me pressie.. *hehe.. mengada punye bride!* I was quite honoured!

So, it's okay if ppl don't get the things from the gift registry. The gift from the heart is most important. *smiles*

And yes..my big day is officially 30 days from today... jeng jeng jeng....
