I could so-related myself with the movie! well, I afterall have been thru the same thing.. (not till wedding part, but still..) ..like the saying goes, "been there, done that.. bought the t-shirt..." (or "s*** here" for terk! hehe)

Farah Syaz's entry:
my favourite movie of all time is "My bestfriend's wedding".
Here are some of my favourite lines from that movie. (it's straight from memory, so it might not be the exact line!)
"No no no... I'm a busy girl. I have 3 days to break up a wedding and steal the bride's fella." -Julianne
"Choose me Michael. Let me make u happy..."-Julianne after confessing to Mike
"Yes, I kissed him, I tried to steal him... I lost..."-Julianne to Kimmy.
Notice all my favourite lines were Julia Robert's. I guess in certain ways, Ive always been Julianne. and i can never be Kimmy.
Jules is Mike's bestfriend from college. They had the greatest time when they're together. They once dated but it didn't workout. And now,4 days before his wedding date, Jules discovers that she had loved Mike all along. But Mike loves Kimmy. Jules will only be his bestfriend. nothing more. Julianne could never be Kimmy. No matter how happy Mike is when he's with her, no matter how hard they laugh when they're together, no matter how many memories they share, Julianne can never be Kimmy. This one time, Jules was chasing Mike after confessing that she loves him, and George told her:
"Wait a minute, u're chasing Michael, and he's chasing Kimmy. Look behind u, who's chasing u?"
So, in the end, Jules had to say goodbye.
I love the way the story ends. it doesn't feed us with the false hope of happy ending, because in life, that's how it really is. in most movies, the minute u confess that u love someone, the other person will then realize that he/she actually loves u too. but not in this movie. and definitely not in real life. not everybody that u love, that u have an awesome time with, will love u the way that u love them.
In most movies, when u kiss someone, they will automatically realize that they love u... but in this movie, nothing changed when Jules kissed Mike. Mike still wants Kimmy.
Jules:"i did what i came here to do"
George:"what? u broke them up?"
Jules:"no, i said goodbye"
ps: I feel you girlfriend! ;)
