Today was the first day of Buddy. I actually woke up extra early & left the house early as well. I didn't want to be late on the first day, you know what I mean. So yeah, at the Welcome Area in City East, they were already starting to talk about UniSA & its Learning Connection stuff. Can't believe I have to hear all of these all over again! Later, the new exchange students were divided in groups, and in different groups, they were lead into different rooms for another workshop, "Studying in UniSA". I joined Gladys & Helen Johnson for their group, and managed to meet up with students from America, Canada, Germany,..and not to mention those French guys! hehe.. Not bad for the first day being a Buddy..
At around 4.30, Noranna called at said she was in the city. So, I met up with her for awhile for our Boost-ing session again(as quoted from her blog "my boosting buddy meen"..cheers mate!) She then waited for me until I finised gym, and we headed to Magill Institute for our double movie marathon! btw, Magill Institute is a small cinema that plays 2 movies in a row for $8 everyday. It's the cheapest cinema in Adelaide so far. (Imagine, $4 per movie) And the best thing is..it is situated right behind my house! woohoo~
"Ella Enchanted" were more suited for primary school kids or younger children. It's a fantasy movie (think dragons, pixies, elfs, etc) focusing on this very "Obedient Girl" who is trying to break her "cursed" for being too-obedient. After watching the movie, I feel that it's better to have an animated version of a Fantasy Story, versus having real actors & such (think Shrek 2). But anyway, we had a good laugh.
"Finding Neverland" was such a beautiful & magical movie! Its worth watching! It's a story about this theater writer who was inspired by these 4 kids to create a magical play, Peter Pan. The main message behind this movie is that anyone can have wild imagination, and they themselves can seek to find their very own "Neverland", regardless of being young/old. It was such a emotional movie! Plus, for the first time, I find Johnny Depp really REALLY handsome..(especially when he wore a tux! wwooaahh...) So peps, I would really recommend you to watch this superb movie..
Since it was late, Noranna decided to crash at my place. Emma, Abu & Darrel was at home eating pizza when we arrived, so we joined their pizza eating session. Since Noranna is sleeping over, Emma took out her imflatable mattress for her. (pretty cool to watch it being "blown" away..hehe) After lotsa chatting & yakking, we finally slept at around 2am..what a day!~
