Yumi's Life Stories: New Year's Eve..

woaahh..time sure flies..exactly a year ago, 31st December 2003, I was in a 5 hours flight from LA, and landed in Orlando, Florida, then headed to Miami (about 4 -5 hours drive) that very same day. It was my first time meeting Hafiz & Badique, but a reunion to meet Dzerk & Farah Syaz again..Although we were at still inside the car at midnight, but once we reached the well known Miami Beach, we embraced the chill wind of the sandy beach of Miami, and while watching the fireworks from afar.. Hafiz then drove us all night long to Key West, and we saw the first sunrise of 2004 from there..it was just..beautiful...

Last monday, I was supposed to board a plane to Paris, meeting Badique, Dzerk & Farah there, and travel with them to Spain, and perhaps later to Germany. The plan was to celebrate new year in Barcelona, then travel all around the different cities in Spain, mainly Madrid, Valencia, etc. Unfortunately, due to circumstances, I had to forgo my Europe trip. I've always wanted to sit in a French cafe, have a nice hot cup of cappacinno and overlooking the Eiffel Tower. I thought I could see some real "Senoritas" in Spain. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see any of that. I was devastated at first, because I thought I have missed an oppurtunity of a lifetime to go to Europe. But oh well, sometimes things aren't meant to be. My parents ensured me that insyallah one day, I will be able to see those places. So, I wasn't in Barcelona this new year.

Instead, I was at Anuar's place with my closest buddies, Shades, Zaf & Terk..(and yes, Anuar as well!) We had BBQ, (I prepared the potato salad!) and yeah, we had our own fireworks behind Anuar's backyard..it was just a chill & easy-going celebration, but I had good food, and was with my good buddies, so it didn't matter where you are during new year's, as long you are with a great company friends, that's what matter most. We had fun & good laughter, that's for sure..

Overall, 2004 has been quite a good year.. more ups than downs with lots of new friends, and heaps of memorable experiences definately.. Farewell 2004, and Welcome 2005.. lets just see how this year will be like, shall we? (oh yes, lets!)..=)
