As we were all sitting there, we saw some of the phamplets, and later realised that this gathering was actually organized by Paradise Church Youth Committee! (this fact wasn't mentioned on the poster!). But these people were warm & friendly enough to welcome us to their gathering. (Lucky thing the food were Halal!) Not long after that, we were joined by other Singaporian ladies, who crave for mamak food as well. Everybody waited in the cold winter night, and finally at 7.30pm, food was served. Our server, Kristin, was a very bubbly young girl who served us well.. We had roti canai, pompadom, Dhal, Chicken satay, rice with chicken curry & meehon.. not forgetting the teh tarik & desserts (kuih lekur.. not sure lah! hehe)
Besides the good food, I would say the Videos that the committee showed were great as well. They showed some clips (directed by them) about life in Adelaide, about the activities they have..but my favourite one was the Hindustani video that they recorded around Rundle Mall & along Torrens River! hehe..simply hillarious! Another interesting activity that they had was Pop Quiz. Each table gets a 50 ques Quiz comprises of General Knowledge about the world & some facts about Australia. The winning table will get a whole bag of perencahs.. So we were all anxious to answer as many correct ques as we can.. Mas & I were cracking our brains on the chemistry ques.. (aduh..fail la! heheh) Of course in the end, we didn't win.. If only Adil was there cause his has superb general knowledge!
So, after our mamak cravings had been fulfilled, we decided to walk to GJs for our chillin' session with Adil & Haz (they didn't managed to join us..kecian diaorg..) So we braced ourselves in the cold weather, and walked 2 streets down to Rundle St.. Brr.. After our short lepaking session, Emma & I took the last bus home..
