Wedding updates..

Updates from the bride-to-be:-

1) Borang2 kahwin
Yesterday, I was over the moon when my dad msg me
" Okay, all documents have been submitted. You are ready to be nikah-ed"
Alhamdullillah..our forms are in order.

2) Wedding cards
They are ready!! Well, almost ready.. by Monday I can pick up the cards. I just "stole" one card from my card person, cause I was too excited! hehe.. But, I have collected the envelopes & reply cards. Very satisfied with everything.. :)

3) Hantaran deco
The aunty has finished, now waiting to buy more ribbons to enhance the deco. Earlier just now, my mom & I "bermain2 display" the dulang, alas, deco & the hantarans. Wahh.. although the deco is incomplete, but everything looks so nice! Or maybe I am biased! hehe..

4) Home deco
My mom has been working hard for this. Everyday there's an update, everyday there's something new she bought. Well, I trust her taste, so I am not worried at all.

This sunday will be a busy day at home with the ladies as we will start our pre-wedding prep, such as cutting ribbons, cutting door gift cards, tying ribbons, putting stamps, etc. Hopefully by Monday, I can start distributing the cards to ppl.

Believe or not, I am still busy with school work. My report card day is next week, so there's lots of checking & signing of cards to do. Plus tmrw my whole day is gone as I have to be on duty in MPH followed by marketing training afterwards. My mom has started making noise cause I come back home feeling & looking tired, and still not 100% on the wedding. Sigh..

There's still lots to do:-
1) Montage pics- I really need to sit down to finalize pics
2) Hantarans- need to go surveying & shopping for the remaining hantarans with Mr Bert..SOON!
3) need to start packing for my new home! *gasp!*
4) need to start back my gym routine! perghh...

*yawnnn.......*
Gosh, I am super tired. Tmrw gotta be in OU by 9am. Sigh..

8th month delight!

Today I managed to accomplish several errands:-
1) Follow-up medical checkup. Tick. Results: most of my readings are lower than before. Good progress. Doctor encouraged to keep up the fantastic job! *yeay*

2) Dentist check up. Tick. Was supposed to do last August, of course time didn't permit. Now my teeth feels so clean! Next appointment, May 2010.

3) Mr Bert's documents to collect. Tick. Since I was on leave today, he asked a favour to pick up the docs from jabatan agama islam in Keramat. He owes me big time! :p

4) Meeting up with the cake lady. Tick. My mom joined in as well. The lady brought several magazines, which have SO many different cake designs! But my mom & I managed to choose the final 2 cakes. Now waiting for quotations.

5) And finally, my long awaited first bridal spa treatment! Tick! I was scrubbed, steamed, yogurt-fide, had my 'mandi bunga', massaged, and also did my facial.
I was so relaxed... * I was in heaven*

I had a fantastic 4 hours session.. I am so satisfied! I also managed to accomplish a personal mission *huge grin* I am so proud of myself! Can't wait for my next session in 2 weeks time. Another happy note, today marks our 8th month anniversary.. I couldn't be happier.. :)

I'm done!!

Yeay!! After months of planning.. it has come to an end..
My concert is over! woohoo~
Alhamdulillah..

Of course, like any events, there were hiccups here & there.
1) Mics were not loud enough.. sound system not the best
2) I need another pair of walkie talkie on the other side of stage. I ended up running across the backstage several times.
3) I needed more ushers, and "guards". The parents were all in front of the stage blocking the VIPs.
4) children were noisy backstage, kinna distracted the VIP speech.
5) Dismissal -need to figure a proper (and organized!) way to dismiss the children.

But alhamdulillah, the plus points:-
1) parents enjoyed Bangsar's Choral Speaking..woot woot!
2) the performances finished earlier than expected. On time, yes!
3) parents enjoyed the performances- especially Recorder, Violin, Sasa & Swinging Bones. The children were SO good!
4) I have a fantastic MC who is so cooperative & jovial too
5) Props & decor were eye catching..

Oh well, I am happy to hear the positive feedback from my parents.
I am so proud of my kids.. Thank you to my lovely teachers for all their hard work!

Now, with the concert over, I can concentrate on my wedding.. 200% Insyallah..
Can't wait for my first bridal spa on Monday...
A well deserved treat for me! :)

a quickie

Had a movie nite with my bestie Shades...
we watched the Time Traveller's Wife movie! *skips for joy!*
Of course, it is different from the book.. a lot of characters were not in the movie.
Overall, it was good.. bitter & sweet.. the movie makes it more realistic and less complicated than the book.
and of course, having very good actor & actress does help the movie to give an impact.
Eric Bana is SOO good looking! It's that unshaven look again.. *sigh dreamily*
I don't mind watching the movie again.. with my Mr Bert.. *wishful thinking*

Aside from my movie getaway, I have been (whats new) busy with my concert.
This morning, I woke up with a splitting headache. It was so bad, that during lunchtime I vomitted in the loo! ooh booyy..
The stress has finally taken it's toll. sigh..
Just a few more days, and everything will be over...

Despite the hectic-ness, there's always a blessing in disguise.
The costume lady sent me a msg saying "Please be informed that we will give you the 3 tux for your flower boys for you wedding present"
Syukur alhamdullillah... rezeki betul for my 3 boys!

I spoke to my dear Imani today, telling her how much I will miss her when she leave the school next year.
" I will miss you too Teacher Helena" (hugs me tight)
"Oh, you know Imani, end of this year, I will be married. I hope you can come, so that I can see you again"
"Okay.. but you have to give me a map.."
"Of course I will. My wedding card is at the printing process now. I will give you the soonest."
"Teacher, who will be your flower girl?"
"my little cousins are.."
"Erm, can I be your flower girl? I've never be a flower girl.."

Awww........I feel so touched.
She is after all, one of my closest student in school.
Maybe since I saved on the tux, I can buy her a dress.. Hmm....

2 months away..

Today was Mr Bert's turn to the tailor..

We sent his baju nikah first.
"Baju bertandang nanti dulu kay.. takut nanti tak muat!"
He is so confident that he'll gain weight after nikah!

Btw, my fiance decided to go for a new look, I called it the 'Warewolf' look. :P
Coincidentally today, he's office is having a Gala dinner tonight, and he plans to dress up as "Hang Tuah", hence the 'unshaven' look.
Or perhaps he feels like celebrating Halloween today..hehe..
He looks very matured, secretly I kinna like it. :P

This is us, "Warewolf & Shewolf" (aa-ooww) 2 months before our big day!
Just 2 months to go, and we'll be Mr & Mrs Bert..
It's just around the corner now, everything has started to kick in..*gulp!*

Soon-to-be Mrs Bert. (that would be me..)
A 26-year-old bride-to-be who is tired, sleepy, stressed and trying to keep herself "sane". Her current life revolves around these two things:-

School concert- From costumes, to souvenir booklet, to hall layout. Currently revising the concert budget, and soon to do the layout of the concert rehearsals and to collect the costumes from the vendors. Since this year's concert is her pilot project, she has to ensure that EVERYTHING runs smoothly. Hence, pressure is on her.

Wedding prep- From cari lining, to cari tailor, to finding matching ribbons, to gift registry shopping. Currently finalizing the wedding cards & guests list. Soon to see cake maker, sending out cards & RSVPs, shopping for remaining hantarans & many many more items in her checklist. Thankfully her mother is already looking for door gifts & decor items. She would like to join her mom, but her tight schedule doesn't permit her to do so.

At the moment, she desperately wants to have a movie outing. Her top choices are This is it, Time Traveller's Wife & Pampodam. (She doesn't mind marathons either).However, she is unable to find any free time due to her up most hectic schedule of school concert & wedding preps. She is also counting the days to her first bridal spa, 2 days after the concert.

So, any takers for this barely breathing and almost drowning bride-to-be?

Wedding baju & Gift Registry..

I had a very busy weekend, focusing on my wedding!

Finally met my tailor to choose the materials for my baju.
We played 'dress up' at the kain shop, he kept on putting materials on me, 4 different layers for my baju.
He also took some net for my veil, which will flow up to my waist.
I went like "Wow..this will be my wedding gown!" Truly can't believe everything is finally happening..
We also bought Mr Bert's suit material, after a very long search.
Now still deciding..to stick to 1 tailor or 2 tailors...Hmmm......

And today, Mr Bert & I finally went "Shopping" for our Gift Registry!
He was pretty skeptical about the whole 'gift registry' idea at first.
But, once we started 'shopping'..he.. well, we both got addicted! If we could take everything from the entire store, we sure will! From Egyptian cotton bedsheets, to feather pillows, to cereal containers, to sandwich maker, to non-stick pans & pots, towels, blender ...the list goes on.
However, we were kind, as we had to put 'ourselves' in ppl's shoes. So we can't choose items that were too expensive. In the end, the items we chose ranges from RM 30 till RM 500. And of course, we don't mind if you wanna "group share" a particular gift.

Although I have not distributed my wedding cards as yet, but you may choose one of the many gifts that we've registered at Metrojaya Midvalley's Customer Service.
We really had fun today! I hope we are able to get most of the items.. *hint hint*wishful thinking*

a) I won't get a huge zit on my cheek. (like the one am having one..sighh)
b) I won't get hiccups (especially during the serious moments! )
c) I don't get my period.. takut stain... (it has been delayed lately..sighh)

I pray everything will run smoothly on my special day...Ameen..

This morning as I was on my way to work, I listened to HotFM 's AM Crew. The topic for the morning was "What is the significant of #1 in your life?"

So I called in.. and yes, I was ON AIR again! hehehe...
I spoke about the 1.1.10 date of course!

To be honest, I sounded a little bit "blur".. I think is the morning traffic.
I mean, compared to how I spoke to Prem & Jules, I had more 'creative' things to say.
But with Faizal & Farah.. I was like a little shy girl! chett..
One thing about Faizal & Farah..they are SUPER cheerful in the morning!

In the evening, I told my mom about my on-air debut, and my mom text Farah's mom.
And...to my shock, Farah wants my number...and, the best part.. SHE CALLED!

"La..you ke yg cakap ngan I this morning? Next time, don't use your name Meen.. use Oshin kay!"

She still calls me Oshin! hehe
She is super friendly & nice, I feel like I met a longtime friend.
We spoke about her hectic schedule, about the good old days, about our moms, about our lives now.. A good 10 minutes talk.. She even added me on fb on the spot! She wrote on my wall..
"budak oshin yang comel dah nampak lebih matang dan muslimah.. pray for my turn ya :)"

Wow..I am SO honoured & thrilled to be her friend.
I hope one day I can meet her & just hang out with her. She is so cool ~
